BullChef, Kapitolyo Experience

My friends and I have been going out every Friday for the past few weeks and we've always been around Kapitolyo. On the 28th of May, 2016, we decided to try out a restaurant which serves a Filipino comfort food - Bulalo, since it was drizzling that night.

From Starbucks at Capitol Commons, we walked towards East Capitol Drive to get to BullChef : The Bulalo Chef. The place had lots of writings on the wall which consists of praises from different people stating how good their bulalo is! :)

Immediately after sitting down, the waiter gave us their menu and after ordering, they gave us a small bowl of bulalo soup which tasted very comforting.

We ordered their asimBULL and BULLCHEF special. It comes with two plates of rice for each Bulalo set, and they also offer another cup of rice on the same plate if you happen to want to eat more rice. :)

(asimBULL)
The asimBULL had the right kick to it.. my friend and I immediately finished the kangkong because the soup complements it well.

(BULLCHEF special)
One thing to note about this bulalo is that the soup is refillable! You just have to ask them to refill it for you :)
(Bone Marrow from the BULLCHEF special. Yumm!)

Overall experience was good and we had a really satisfying and filling meal. The meat was tender and the food was served hot. :) We will definitely go back soon.

With love,
Haaze

Yvan Navy Recto

Yvan Navy recently opened a branch at Recto near STI and Ever. The place used to be Lugawan Republic's (which BTW has the BEST LUGAW EVER!!! So sad that they had to close their Recto bramch :(

I was a bit disappointed with the place (5/10) the first time I went here because even though it opened just recently, it looked so dirty. The chairs and tables looked so dirty.. :( But then again, we came there for the food naman.

NOTE: I'm writing this blog after more than 10 visits, if i'm not mistaken.

I ordered Kebab Pita. THREE WORDS: OILY BUT DELICIOUS!!!!  It's worth all the calories because it just tastes so good! It 's best paired with their hot sauce. Sobrang solid. SARAP!

QUARTER POUNDER: If I don't order the Kebab Pita, this is my go-to burger. For just 50 pesos, you get to have this wonderful piece of burger. Their patty is home made, not store bought which only means that you get to eat real burger.

Pictured below is their Hungarian Sausage burger

MY HONEST OPINION: I hope they do something about how the place looks like, I think they should invest on new tables/chairs din para mas okay. So far, Yvan Navy has the best tasting affordable Kebab and burgers around UBelt! :)

Amo Yamie Crib @ UBelt

Hi guys!! It's been sooooo long since my last blog because of acads but i'm back!! :-)
Anyway, here's my review for Amo Yamie Crib located at University Belt.

THE PLACE: 9/10
This is how their counter looks like. You can order your food on the left side and claim it on the right side BUT they can also deliver it to your table/space.

Their pastries are displayed beside the counter.

The place is jam packed most of the time but what I really like about Amo Yamie is you get to have your own space to hang out and eat with your friends. The place is also well ventilated. :)

 THE FOOD: 7/10
We ordered 1 Bugs Vanny Twin, which is a vanilla with cinnamon (Buy1 take 1) and 1 Pink Panther on a Mason Jar.  We also ordered Nacho fries and  Mini Bites which is basically bite sized burgers with fries on the side.

(Left to Right)
Bugs Vanny 1, Pink Panther, Bugs Vanny 2

Mini Bites, Nacho Fries

I liked how Bugs Vanny tasted especially because of the cinnamon. I finished mine as soon as I was done taking pictures of it! HAHA  (8/10)
The Mini Bites: The bun was a little on the stale side, so i didn't really like it that much. (5/10)
The Nacho Fries: It was served cold :( It would have been better if they served it warm, so the cheese would have melted a little.. (6/10)
For dessert, we had a lava cake which was served COLD, contrary to what was stated on their menu - "Served hot" (see photo below). That made me a bit disappointed but the cake was good naman.  (8/10)

They also offer seatings outside, i think this is for smokers? :)

TIP: Amo Yamie Crib has these movie rooms and they have promos where you could avail of unlimited pop corn! :) I think we'll try this next time. :-bd

MY HONEST OVERALL OPINION: The place is really really nice if you want to hang out and chat with your friends or just kill some time. Despite being crowded most of the time, the place is well ventilated but their (background) music can get too loud at times. The food is on the pricier side but it isn't really something that you would crave for. I actually have a friend who agreed when i told him that if i ever go back again, it would be for the place and the experience but not for the food itself.
